The state song is "Hawaii Ponoi" by King David Kalakaua and Professor Henry Berger. It was 50th state to be admitted to the Union in 1959. It's actually America's widest state from East to West with 8 islands that imclude Maui, Oahu and Kauai. These islands were originally formed by volcanoes. The warm tropical weather with summer high temperatures in the 70s and 80s attacts tourists from all over the world. Themes include Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, Waikiki, pineapples, palm trees, coffee, coconuts and macadamia nuts. The state is a leader in implementing renewable energy standards.
