KBBQ was an LA country station at 1500 AM starting in June 1967, lasting through 1972 when it became the early incarnation of KROQ. The station broadcast from Burbank and previously aired a hit format as KBLA. After the switch to hits as KROQ, the call KBBQ call letters landed for awhile at a country station in Ventura, CA at 1590 AM.
