Rob Tonkin, founder of a Los Angeles-based creative agency for music and cultural events Marketing Factory, joins Alex Cosper for a Social Music Talk interview on March 30, 2019. The show is based in San Diego while Rob calls in from Los Angeles. Rob talks about the big concerts he's been involved with including the Honda Civic Tour, which is associated with big names each year in the late summer. As Mike Halloran and Max Tolkoff talked about on the March 23, 2019 show, Rob worked in promotions at 91X from 1982 through 1987. Rob did work for Westwood One then moved on to create his own marketing venture, working closely with Honda and major recording artists. In the 80s Rob worked for Mighty 690, an AM top 40 station in San Diego that was competitive in the Los Angeles market. Halloran says Rob told him he printed a million 91X stickers per year in the station's heyday.
