World War II Playlist

The roots of World War II began with a treaty between Germany and Poland that was breached when Hitler invaded Poland in September 1939. Immediately the USSR took the side of Poland as European nations such as the UK and France opposed Germany's expansion.

The United States entered the war following Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. The US joined the USSR and the UK as the core of the Allied Forces which Germany and Japan were the core of the Axis Powers. The USSR's Red Army defeated Hitler in April 1945. Japan surrendered in August 1945 after the US dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
