2000s Country Music Industry Statistics
Country Music had significant growth in the mid-2000s before pulling back in the late 2000s, according to data from Peter Hart Research and Taylor Research & Consulting Group, as reported on RIAA.com in the RIAA's 2008 Consumer Profile. Country's biggest years of the decade were 2004 to 2006, peaking at 13.0 market share before slightly dipping below at 12 share. The genre stayed between a 10 and 11 share in the early 2000s. It was the second most popular genre behind Rock in 2004, 2006 and 2008.
