Music the Week The World Wide Web Went Public
by Alex Cosper (12/21/12)

The World Wide Web first went public on August 6, 1991. The foundation was developed by Tim Berners-Lee, who worked as an independent contractor with European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). Within a decade the web became as ubiquitous as television. Internet technology can be traced back to the sixties. Here were the songs that were popular nationally for the first week of January 1991.
