by Alex Cosper (12/24/12) The Beatles album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band was released on June 1, 1967. It was considered revolutionary for its time for a number of reasons. The songs all flowed together, much the way freeform radio was starting to sound. The album contained lots of variety and experimental electronic sounds. It has been described as a concept album, although there are many different interpretations of what the concept is about. In 1978 there was a movie with the same title, filled with Beatles songs, but the original album over-shadowed it even a decade later. It continues to be considered the greatest album of all time in many widely published polls. The following songs appeared on national charts such as Billboard for the week ending June 3, 1967.
