Music the Week of the First Mac Commercial
by Alex Cosper (12/24/12)

Apple introduced its line of MacIntosh computers in a commercial aired during Super Bowl XVIII. It marked an evolution in graphics for personal computers. The commercial used "Big Brother" imagery to showcase Mac as an alternative. One of the advancing songs that week was a song about Orwellian surveillance called "Somebody's Watching Me" by Rockwell and Michael Jackson. Steve Jobs remained with Apple until 1985 then reappeared 12 years later. Below are songs that appeared on the national charts the week ending January 28, 1984.
