The popularity of Children's music grew throughout the 2000s, according to data from Peter Hart Research and Taylor Research & Consulting Group, as reported on RIAA.com in the RIAA's 2008 Consumer Profile. The decade opened with Children's music at .4 market share. By 2008 after years of steady growth, it accounted for 3.0 market share. The genre had its biggest jump in 2004, advancing from .6 to 2.8, followed by a half point dip in 2005, then continued gradual growth.
